Forbes: "Paul Newman's Famous Kids' Camps Changes Names, Celebrates With Stars" @jimmyfallon #FalPals

| Studio publicity portrait of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. (Photo credit: Wikipedia) The late Academy Award winning actor Paul Newman was incredibly charitable. He left behind his Newman’s Own line of products like lemonade and salad dressing to fund his worldwide Hole in the Wall Camps for kids with serious or terminal illnesses. Last night at Avery Fisher Hall, Hole in the Wall celebrated Newman’s amazing legacy with a star studded, moving and funny evening. They also changed the name of their group officially to the Serious Fun Children’s Network. Newman has been gone for almost four years now, but the camps are stronger than ever. They’re all over the world, from Africa to Asia to the Middle East to Europe and South America. I’ve actually met people in Africa who knew about the camps and had no idea who Paul Newman was–they just knew the camps saved their kids. Last night, a panoply of stars took the stage to honor Newman. Singers Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, Trisha Yearwood, Josh Groban and NaTasha Yvette Williams each performed two songs, interspersed with bits by Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Jake Gyllenhaal. Donors got their money’s worth, especially with Simon giving a reworked and brilliant “Sound of Silence,” Costello doing a lesser known masterpiece, “All this Useless Beauty,” and Yearwood rocking an emotional, anthemic “Climb” with some of the camp kids on harmony. (Yearwood is really a underappreciated star.) The music was all live, and reverberated through the hallowed Hall. Of the non singers, Fallon had the smartest bit, with a peanut of a camp kid named Alfie Bautista who mugged along during their sketch. He’s good to go for “Saturday Night Live.” And Fallon even Tweeted about him later. But the best moments were from the campers themselves. There was no milking for sympathy either. These kids are tough. A young woman named Erica Jones just sat down at the piano amid all these star singers and turned into a very professional and cool sounding young Carole King. And a wheelchair bound young man named Josh Burger, 21, a self described little person, absolutely killed with a comic routine about his life and the camps. He got a standing ovation because he was so damn funny and endearing. Front and center: Newman’s family including daughter Clea, who introduced the evening, and widow Joanne Woodward, the great award winning actress. She’s still very active at age 82–she sure doesn’t look her age– helping with the foundation and active at the Westport (Connecticut) Country Playhouse. I can't wait for @jimmyfallon's new album #FalPals
Old article on the Los Angeles Times about Jimmy Fallon's new album
"Having a new album coming out soon on Warner Bros. means so much to me," Fallon said in a statement. "Mostly, it means I should probably start writing some songs."
The "Saturday Night Live" alum has had success performing catchy parodies and getting his late-night guests — Justin Timberlake, Mick Jagger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Springsteen among them — to sing duets with him and show off their musical stylings. Recently on "Late Night," Fallon performed the theme from "Reading Rainbow" as Jim Morrison.
His upcoming album "will include music, parodies and other impresario compositions that became instant classics after performances by Jimmy and his guests on the 'Late Night' show," according to a statement from Warner. It will also feature never before released material from NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon."
The music label boasts other comedians including Bob Hope, Steve Martin, Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Katt Williams and Lisa Lampanelli.
Fallon's first album, "The Bathroom Wall" (2002) earned him a Grammy nod in the spoken comedy album category.

Jimmy Fallon to release comedy album with 'Late Night' songs
Los Angeles Times - Nardine Saad. Dec 2, 2011
Jimmy Fallon is getting back behind the mike to record his second comedy album.
The "Late Night" host has inked a deal with the Nashville-based Warner Music Records; the album is to be released next summer.
"Having a new album coming out soon on Warner Bros. means so much to me," Fallon said in a statement. "Mostly, it means I should probably start writing some songs."
